Yesterday, Sidy Benet stopped by the studio for a quick little tune-up with my good buddy Steve Waugh — a guy who’s been deeply embedded in Houston’s model and photography world for decades. If you’ve spent any real time around glamour or nude photography in this city, there’s a good chance you’ve crossed paths with Steve somewhere along the way. He ran Fotofusion Studios in downtown Houston for about 26 years, and he’s worked with more models, photographers, and beautiful troublemakers than most people could count.
With Sidy getting ready for her upcoming Hotties Magazine Shootout on Saturday, March 22, Steve brought her in for a short test session to help her fine-tune a few things before the March 22 shootout. Nothing overly elaborate. Just a smart little behind-the-scenes visit to help her sharpen up and show even better once that shootout day gets here.
What makes Sidy so interesting is that she’s still fairly new to this whole modeling world, but she can already boast the kind of résumé most girls would need years to build. That alone says a lot. She’s already landed some very real opportunities early, and when you look at her, it’s not hard to understand why. She’s statuesque, sexy, photogenic, and built in a way that naturally pulls your eyes right where they want to go — to those long legs, those curves, perfect tear drop shaped boobs, and all the rest of the package that makes her so easy to look at.
Steve first met Sidy at the Full House Shootout on February 1, where he was cohosting the event, so yesterday was really his first chance to work with her directly in the studio. The setup was simple — one main white-draped set, a gray rug, a chair, and Sidy in red lingerie giving the camera plenty to enjoy. Long legs. Curvy hips. Smooth thighs. A pretty face. Even in a stripped-down little test shoot, she already had no problem serving up something sexy to look at.
What made the session interesting was how much of it came down to little details. Steve worked with her on softening up her stare by parting her lips just a touch, letting her mouth look a little more relaxed and inviting instead of too stiff. He had her shift her hair over from the left side to the right so it wouldn’t fall in a dead-center part. He showed her how looking just slightly past the camera can feel a lot sexier than staring straight into it. He adjusted her arms to keep them a little asymmetrical so the pose had more shape and a little more life to it. He even worked with her on small body tricks that make a huge difference, like rising onto one foot a bit and pushing her ass back just enough to create a better curve.
That’s the kind of thing most readers will never consciously notice, but they’ll definitely feel it when they see the pictures. Those little tweaks are what take a pose from flat to flirtatious. And to Sidy’s credit, she took direction well. She didn’t come off lost or awkward. She came off like a newer model who already has plenty going for her and just needed a little guidance on how to make every look, every angle, and every line of her body hit harder.
Anybody who saw Sidy in Hottie’s Playhouse Magazine Volume 3 already knows she isn’t shy when it’s time to show off. She went butt-naked for that layout, bared it all, and looked gorgeous doing it. So yesterday wasn’t about proving she could be sexy. We already know that. It was about sharpening the details that make the difference between simply having the goods and really knowing how to sell them — how to turn boobs, ass, legs, and attitude into something a guy wants to keep staring at.
If yesterday was any indication, Sidy’s heading into the March 22 shootout looking even more promising. She’s still early in the game, but she’s already got the kind of face, body, and sex appeal that can stop a guy in his tracks and leave him wanting a longer look.
