So this past Sunday, we finally pulled off the Strip Club Shootout. It was a collaboration between Hotties Magazine Shootout and Houston Art Glamour Photography Meetup Group. We had Adrianna Angel and SantanaXO there for a themed shoot at a small strip club on the north side of town. You guys already know… it was a hell of a way to spend a Sunday.
It was also our first shootout away from the studio since the Full House Shootout back in February, so getting into a real club location immediately gave the day its own identity. The club itself was closed to the public while we were there, so we had the place during the day to ourselves. Both models showed up early with plenty of time to get ready in the dressing room, unpack their stuff, and settle in before we ever got started. From there, everything ran smooth. Everybody showed up ready to work, and that kept the whole thing smooth from the start.
Once we got rolling, we lit the place the way it needed to be lit.
We didn’t use the overhead house lights. We let the club stay dark and used the hot lights we brought with us to shape the mood. I also put some music on through the DJ booth out on the main floor just to give the room a little life. I kept it low enough so people could still communicate, but loud enough that the place didn’t feel too quiet. Between the lighting, the music, the stage, the bar, and the rest of the club around us, it felt like a real club environment from the start.
You guys already know I’ve photographed Adrianna Angel before, when we shot her for Hotties Playhouse Magazine Volume 3, so I already knew what she could do. SantanaXO was brand new to me. Steve Waugh, who runs Houston Art Glamour Photography Meetup Group, brought her into the lineup, and it was actually his first time meeting her too.
Adrianna and Santana clicked almost immediately. They had an easy energy with each other that made it look like they had known each other for years and were just picking right back up where they left off. That kind of chemistry gave the whole event a sexy little jolt, because once the two girls are comfortable, the posing gets hotter, the teasing gets easier, and all of a sudden you’ve got two hot girls in a strip club making the whole room look real damn good.
We ended up photographing in four different areas of the club, and each one gave the event its own look.
We started with both models together on the main stage, which was the perfect way to kick things off. That set had the strongest strip club feel of the whole day. Pole, platform, dark room, colored light, both girls working together… it immediately put everybody in the right frame of mind. Jesus… two hot girls on a stage under colored lights will do that. From there, we split things up and photographed each model separately at the bar, then each model separately again in the dressing room area, and finally brought both of them back together on the stairs leading up to the VIP section.
That gave us a strong mix without making the shoot feel repetitive.
The stage shots had the energy. The bar gave us that flashy, sexy club atmosphere. The dressing room sets carried a different kind of appeal, and for a lot of guys that room comes with its own built-in fantasy. A woman’s dressing room is one of those places a lot of men have always wondered about… what it looks like, what goes on in there, what it might feel like to be standing there while a couple of hot girls are getting ready and peeling things off. So that set gave the photographers a chance to work with something that taps into that exact male curiosity. Then the staircase at the end brought the girls back together and gave us one more duo section to finish on.
Each set started with clothing and ended fully nude, so the shoot kept opening up as we moved from one part of the club to the next. By the end of it, the whole session had exactly the kind of variety you want from a themed location shoot: strong two-girl chemistry, individual sets for each model, a real club atmosphere, and plenty of sexy material from start to finish.
Adrianna looked right at home in that environment, and Santana ended up fitting the concept perfectly. Together they made the whole thing click. What we got was a sexy club-themed shoot with strong variety, a smooth flow from set to set, and two hot girls giving the room plenty of legs, curves, tattoos, naked skin, and hot ass all the way through.
